Bathroom / Shower Panels | London

Shower cladding is a great modern alternative to tiling. It is less time-consuming to apply and can be an effective way to renovate your bathroom. Cladding provides the same moisture protection as tiling can with the added benefit of being easier to clean and maintain. It can be wiped down in one simple step, avoiding the need for harsh cleaning products. Bathroom wall cladding is available in a variety of different styles and designs and is an eco-friendly option if you are looking to make your home greener. Its long-lasting design will keep your bathroom looking fresh and mould-free for longer. We can arrange installations quickly and efficiently to answer all your cladding needs.

It isn’t any wonder that shower wall panels are very popular with the trade and DIY industry. Here is why:

  • Easy & quick to install.

  • Waterproof.

  • Maximum leakage protection.

  • Easy to clean.

  • Come in a wide variety of colours, patterns, and finishes.

  • Great value.

Our shower cladding is 2.4M tall x 1M wide (slightly smaller than plasterboard). It is easy to transport in a standard-sized van and ideal for when time is of the essence. These large sheets are much easier to work with than laying individual ceramic tiles. Tiling is an art form in itself and requires extreme attention to detail to ensure all of the tiles are laid evenly. Cladding can even be installed over the top of any damaged tiles or walls making the process even more efficient.

C&A can provide you with a modern, moisture-proof bathroom. We also offer a full range of aluminium trims in either a white or chrome finish to complement the bathroom hardware. There is no need for tedious grout cleaning and water simply runs off them down to your drain. Cladding is a much more cost-effective option for what can be expensive bathroom renovations. It will speed up the process too. So, for those with busy family lives, your bathroom can be up and running again in no time. Our choice of designs means that every size of the bathroom is covered, from en-suite to larger bathrooms, no job is too big or too small.

Installation is easy, with a good range of adhesives and sealants available to buy off the shelf. The tongue and groove edges allow for flush joints without ‘H’ trims common on hygienic installation jobs. Our cladding is available straight from our London depot for quick and easy access to supplies. You will be able to begin bathroom renovations as soon as possible. • Are shower panels a good idea?
Shower panels are a great idea if you want to cover a large area quickly, cost effectively and to minimise the issues associated with tile and grout. Being large smooth areas they are easy to wipe down to keep clean and reduce the risk of mould growth. Bathroom tiles are still the most popular due to them being the traditional method used, and the very wide range of styles and patterns that can be created from different combinations.
  • Can I put shower panels over tiles?
Shower panels are able to be installed on many surfaces, including over the existing tiles. The shower panels are simply glued over the top of the existing tiles (the tiles must be secure) using a suitable adhesive. Consideration however does need to be made as to how the thickness of the panel on top of the tiles will then interact with the shower fittings, pipes and shower tray.
  • What is the difference between bathroom wall panels and shower panels?
Bathroom wall panels are normally considered to be the thinner 5mm plastic cladding panels that are normally in 200mm or 250mm width planks, these are of a lighter weight construction than the shower wall panels that are normally 7mm or 10mm thick. The shower wall panels also come in larger board widths of 600mm to 1000mm, which means most shower trays can be completed with only 1 or maybe 2 boards; this then reduces the potential for leakage and mould growth with less joints. There is a growing tendency these days to use the shower panels to clad entire bathrooms given there higher quality and relative low cost when taking into account labour charges and times of installations.
  • Do shower wall panels leak?
Plastic shower panels themselves are totally waterproof and so in themselves do not leak. Any leaks would most likely occur at a joint or interface section, with them being larger than tiles this risk is therefore greatly reduced compared to all other traditional methods. It is recommended to use a high quality sealant therefore in the corners and where the panels sit on the shower tray to ensure there are no leaks.
  • How long does a shower panel last?
Plastic shower panels will last for years and decades when properly installed and used appropriately, the shower fittings and enclosure are more likely to be wished to be changed prior to the panels from limescale, use or even just bathroom refresh / style change.
  • How thick should shower wall panels be?
Plastic shower wall panels are normally 10mm or 7mm thick with a honeycomb structure, often they are also 600mm to 1000mm wide and 2400mm tall. Sometimes the solid 2mm and 3mm pvc sheets used for hygiene wall cladding are used in the shower cubicles where the thickness can be an issue with the pipes and trays when sticking over existing tiles.
